If you are interested in reading an illuminating book about growth, I recommend the Double Digit Growth: How Great Companies Achieve It - No Matter What by Michael Treacy. The author was part of the team who wrote The Discipline Of Market Leaders. This book provided a good overview of how a company can obtain annual significant growth.
The first half of the book provides examples of how large companies successfully grew. The second half of the book provides an overview and description of avenues to growth. While a bit MBAish, I did find the book thorough and stimulating. I also found the second half better than the first half. Luckily, the book lends itself to skimming and skipping around.
